The growing urban sector plays a critical role in fueling economic growth in developing economies. UMC believes that ensuring high quality public services in cities is not an end in itself, but it will also facilitate the full realization of a country’s economic potential. The organization works with local governments to determine specific service delivery needs and creates innovative ways to provide quality services to citizens.  By conducting local assessments, developing targeted work plans and implementing goal-oriented projects, UMC provides direct assistance in solid waste management, water, sanitation, urban planning, financial management, resource mobilization, land management and other service facilities.  This assistance helps local governments improve the overall quality of life of their citizens.

  • UMC has undertaken sanitation rating of cities in Gujarat and Rajasthan, India under the National Urban Sanitation Policy of Government of India
